What happens to the data already on my desktop? Does it get copied to the Cloud Workspace?

As a part of the implementation of your Cloud Workspace, GCOMM will deploy all apps you need to work, and ensure your data is accessible.

What happens if my internet connection is down?

The GCOMM Cloud Workspace solution requires a stable internet connection to connect to the service. If the internet connection is disrupted or goes down, you will lose access until you connect your device to another internet connection. During the consultation process, GCOMM will ask about your connectivity infrastructure and make a recommendation based on your requirements.

Is my data backed up and stored?

GCOMM backup your data and store it for 30 days as a first line precaution. Any data backup beyond this retention period is not included in the Cloud Workspace service. We highly recommend you speak to your GCOMM Solution Consultant about a Cloud Backup service to safely store your data for as long you need.

Will performance be impacted when I move to Cloud Workspace?

If you have never used a virtual workspace service before then you may notice a difference. However, as long as your internet connection is suitable you will not experience any noticeable impact to the experience. Cloud Workspace is not, however, recommended for high definition video playback, or apps with heavy graphics requirements such as AutoCAD. In this case we will recommend a hybrid environment, so all users have the same quality experience.

How secure is GCOMM Cloud Workspace?

GCOMM have a number of measures in place to ensure a highly secure virtual workspace environment. The service is delivered from our secure Private Network, and bundled with Cisco Security services including Cisco Umbrella, AMP for Endpoints and Email Filtering. From the end user, to the internet and back to the GCOMM core, your service is secure.
