GCOMM is excited to announce that we have recently completed our network infrastructure upgrade and have migrated our Brisbane and Sydney PoPs to the next generation of Cisco Aggregation Services Routers (ASR). As presented in our previous article, we were in the process of upgrading both core routers and core switch infrastructure at that time.
What has been done?
Switch to the next generation of Cisco Aggregation Services Routers (ASR).
Upgraded both our core routers and core switch infrastructure.
Upgraded the switching infrastructure utilising the Cisco 4500-X switches.
GCOMM opted for the switching infrastructure utilising the Cisco 4500-X switches, which delivers up-to 800 Gbps of switching capacity. It is no surprise that we are not moving away from Cisco’s platform, given the reliability and performance of Cisco equipment, coupled with our extensive Cisco knowledge and the quality of Cisco support services.
The ASR platform will enhance GCOMM’s carrier agnostic proposition which means we can continue to provision most broadband circuit types into a single private network, irrespective of the delivery point of the service or the carrier.
Providing a high performance broadband and increased capacity for our customers and partners.
With the new equipment for the network, GCOMM ensures that broadband services can continue to be provided reliably.
GCOMM will be upgrading its network in Melbourne, the Gold Coast and our remaining PoPs in the very near future and we will keep you informed of our progress.
