Multihoming

BGP routing is suitable for customers who have multihomed Internet access, either via:

  • a connection to a single Internet service provider at more than one point of presence, or
  • multiple connections to multiple Internet service providers

Peering

By peering with major telecommunications providers, GCOMM is able to provide the most optimal route for your data traffic, as well as find an alternative, high quality path to the Internet to avoid bottlenecks. We are also able to establish peering sessions with customers who have their own AS number and IP ranges, minimising the number of hops between source and destination.

Internet redundancy

Peering allows us to provide multiple levels of redundancy between services. In case of hardware failure or power outage, your Internet service will automatically reroute to another available path ensuring your services are functioning without interruption, at all times.

Why BGP routing?

  • Optimise your network performance
  • Achieve Internet connection redundancy
  • Control how your networks are announced to Internet service providers
  • Prevent your Internet traffic from traveling via an expensive and low capacity link

Key capabilities:

  • Peering with upstream carriers
  • Peering with customers who have IP ranges
  • Multihomed connectivity
  • Multiple levels of network redundancy
  • Available in multiple GCOMM PoPs

“Our mission is to continuously innovate our products so we can improve your performance and make you more successful then you were before.”
